A major transformation program is underway to modernise legacy data systems using AWS Cloud and Databricks.

As a key member of the project, you will have the opportunity to shape and deliver enterprise-scale data platforms supporting core digital services for millions of users.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and build scalable, secure data pipelines using Databricks, Spark, Python, and AWS tools (S3, Glue, Redshift).
  • Migrate and integrate data from legacy platforms into a modern AWS-based ecosystem.
  • Collaborate with architects, analysts, and technical teams to design end-to-end data solutions.
  • Apply governance, data quality, and security best practices across the data lifecycle.
  • Mentor junior engineers and contribute to engineering standards and reusable components.
  • Continuously improve pipeline performance, reliability, and automation workflows.

Requirements:

  • 5+ years in data engineering roles, with hands-on experience in Databricks on AWS.
  • Strong background in Spark, Python, SQL, and modern orchestration tools (e.g., Airflow, dbt).
  • Experience with AWS data ecosystem (e.g., Glue, Redshift, Lambda, Step Functions, DynamoDB).
  • Proven history in cloud migrations, ELT/ETL pipelines, and distributed data processing.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD practices, Git, and automated testing frameworks.
  • Deep understanding of data governance, metadata, and privacy frameworks.

Prioritised qualifications:

  • Databricks Certified or AWS Data Analytics Certified.
  • Experience working in regulated or public service environments.
  • Exposure to commercialising data platforms or productising analytics solutions.
