Academic Position in Operations Research and Analytics

We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced academic to join our department as a Lecturer or Senior Lecturer. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching, research, and service.

Job Description

The primary focus of this role is to conduct high-quality research and engage in activities that enhance research impact. The candidate will also be responsible for preparing and delivering lectures, workshops, seminars, etc., as part of the department's business courses. Additionally, the individual will contribute to the development of course materials, collaborating with senior staff to ensure content aligns with academic standards.

As a unit/subject coordinator, the successful candidate will oversee the administration and coordination of specific units within the curriculum. They will also offer academic support and guidance to students through consultations and advising sessions. Furthermore, the candidate will supervise the research projects of honours, master's, or other postgraduate students engaged in coursework.

Required Skills and Qualifications

To be considered for this role, you must hold a doctoral qualification in operations research, operations management, business analytics, data science, machine learning, or a closely related discipline. You will have a proven track record of high-quality research and scholarly publications, along with demonstrated ability to deliver engaging lectures, workshops, and seminars, and to develop course materials and assessments.

You will possess excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work independently, while also fostering strong working relationships. Experience working in interdisciplinary teams and collaborating with external organisations, including industry partners, is highly desirable.
