About You
  • You must hold tertiary qualifications in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism or a related field.
  • Extensive experience in media and communications, preferably within government or public sector, is required.
Key Responsibilities
  • You will play a key role in supporting the development and implementation of the council's media and communications strategy.
  • Oversee proactive and reactive media engagement, including media releases, interviews, and public statements.
  • Support internal communications to ensure staff are informed and engaged.
  • Provide strategic advice and support to senior leaders and elected officials.

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of effective communication practices, excellent interpersonal skills, and the ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
