Executive Director of Merchandise Strategy

We are seeking a visionary executive to drive our merchandise strategy, aligning with short- and long-term business objectives.
This role is pivotal to the ongoing success and growth of our product strategy. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and executing Total Tools' merchandise strategy, leading category development, range reviews, pricing strategy, and private label growth.
Main Responsibilities:- Develop and execute comprehensive merchandise strategies aligned with Total Tools' business objectives
- Lead cross-functional teams in category development, range reviews, pricing strategy, and private label growth initiatives
- Manage supplier trading agreements and develop long-term strategic partnerships to drive category performance
- Oversee category-level budgeting, margin, and sales targets, ensuring alignment with business objectives
- Contribute to business-wide initiatives and represent the merchandise function as a key member of the executive team
You are an experienced leader with a deep understanding of merchandising in a wholesale or retail environment. You combine strategic thinking with strong execution capability and have a proven ability to lead teams through growth and transformation.
- Extensive experience in senior merchandise leadership roles within retail, wholesale, or trade distribution
- Demonstrated success in developing and implementing category and supplier strategies
- Strong commercial and financial acumen, including P&L management and data-driven decision making
- Proven capability in supplier negotiations and building strategic partnerships to drive growth
- Experience leading, developing, and mentoring high-performing teams
- Ability to influence across multiple stakeholder groups and collaborate effectively across business functions
