We are looking for a skilled Operations Manager to join our team in Melbourne, Victoria. This critical leadership role will be responsible for developing, implementing, and monitoring strategies for our Victorian Concrete operations.
The successful candidate will have a strong background in operational leadership within the construction, manufacturing, logistics, or mining industries. They will have a high degree of financial literacy and commercial acumen, with exposure to budget development and control.
A key responsibility of this role will be to lead a team of 130 staff, including 7 direct Area Manager reports, with a relentless focus on operational safety, compliance, quality, and respect. The successful candidate will also develop annual budgets and ensure resources are applied to deliver budgeted volume, price, cost, production, and earnings targets.
This permanent, full-time opportunity has coverage over operations of circa 35 sites and will require travel to these sites. We offer a competitive salary package, eligibility to participate in a short-term incentive program, and access to SkillBuild, an online Learning & Development platform.
Responsibilities:
- Lead a large team of 130 staff, including 7 direct Area Manager reports, with a focus on operational safety, compliance, quality, and respect.
- Develop annual budgets and ensure resources are applied to deliver budgeted volume, price, cost, production, and earnings targets.
- Manage customer accounts and key relationships to understand customer needs and deliver superior service and performance.
- Identify areas for business operations improvement through analysis and benchmarking and implement strategies to drive operational efficiencies and promote standardisation.
- Travel to various sites across the Victorian region.
Requirements:
- Demonstrated experience in an operational leadership role within the construction, manufacturing, logistics, or mining industries.
- High degree of financial literacy and commercial acumen with exposure to budget development and control.
- Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills.
- Unwavering commitment to safety and success with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
