Role Overview:

This position involves supporting a diverse team responsible for the upkeep, repair, and incident management of essential services and systems, including Electrical, Mechanical, and Fire systems. As a Service Technician, you will be the initial responder to alerts and alarms, assess their severity, prioritize rectification efforts, and determine if escalation to third-party contractors is necessary.

You will conduct proactive inspections to ensure all critical infrastructure operates as intended and identify any potential risks to the infrastructure and facilities. The team also monitors all contractors performing critical tasks, ensuring strict compliance with established processes and procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Respond promptly to service requests and emergency issues.
  • Conduct initial fault diagnosis, identify causes, and implement solutions.
  • Communicate repair timelines with internal teams for coordinated client updates.
  • Perform critical switching to avert disruptions during equipment failures.
  • Ensure timely execution of planned maintenance, daily site evaluations, and compliance with safety protocols.

Additionally, you will promote safe work practices, embody CDC's values, provide leadership, and mentor junior personnel.

Candidate Profile:

We seek a motivated individual with a trade or tertiary qualification in relevant fields such as Electrical, Refrigeration, Mechanical, Mechatronics, Fire, or Telecommunications.

  • Demonstrated experience in trade or critical facilities.
  • Prior exposure to critical infrastructure environments with strict procedural adherence.
  • Experience with Building Management Systems (BMS) or Energy Management Systems (EMS).
  • Familiarity with data centre equipment, including CRAC units, UPS, generators, and fire systems.
  • Proven skills in managing critical infrastructure, utilizing electronic monitoring systems, troubleshooting, and contributing to process enhancements.

Working Rights:

Applicants must possess Australian Citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain an NV1 Security Clearance.
