Electrical Engineer for Instrumentation and Hazardous Area Systems

We are seeking a skilled Electrical Engineer to join our team in the design, inspection, testing, and maintenance of various instrumentation and hazardous area systems.

The ideal candidate will have strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with experience in control and instrumentation systems associated with chemical process plants, power stations, or mining operations.

Key responsibilities will include executing or coordinating minor engineering changes to instrumentation systems, developing procedures for safe work practices, analyzing system performance, finding solutions to engineering problems, and ensuring adequate resources for rapid response to instrumentation availability issues.

The successful candidate will also be responsible for managing hazardous area processes on site, planning and performing periodic inspections and testing of electrical equipment in hazardous areas, and maintaining and managing the hazardous area verification dossier according to regulatory and corporate requirements.

About This Opportunity

This role is ideal for a detailed and process-oriented person who is passionate about electrical engineering and instrumentation systems.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • A Bachelor of Engineering (Electrical) degree and EEHA Competency (Design & Maintenance) to AS/NZS 4761.1/2 or equivalent.
  • At least 3-5 years' experience in control and instrumentation systems associated with chemical process plants, power stations, or mining operations.
  • Membership of the Institution of Engineers, Australia, or eligibility to obtain full membership.
