The Intensive Therapeutic Care (ITC) Model

CareSouth's ITC model is a collaborative effort with the Department of Communities and Justice (DCJ) to provide specialized support to children and young people with disabilities. This program aims to create a therapeutic environment that fosters growth, stability, and resilience.

Role of the Support Worker

As a Support Worker in the ITC model, you will play a vital role in supporting children and young people to achieve their personal goals. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Assisting children and young people to build their personal resilience and navigate complex emotions and triggers
  • Supporting connection to family and culture
  • Encouraging and aiding participation in education and extracurricular activities to promote competence and stability in day-to-day life
  • Transporting and providing daily care as required
  • Working alongside our clinical and casework team to ensure the best possible outcomes for children and young people
