Housing Officer Role

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Housing Officer to join our team at Empire Group. As a key member of our Housing Service Centre, you will provide exceptional customer service and support to individuals with complex needs.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Respond to customer inquiries and provide timely support via phone and face-to-face interactions.
  • Assess and process new social housing and private housing assistance applications.
  • Maintain accurate customer and property records using Microsoft Suite and internal IT systems.
  • Manage tenancy arrangements, allocations, and changes, ensuring compliance with departmental regulations.
  • Conduct home visits to properties and investigate tenancy disputes and complaints.
  • Manage property maintenance and conduct property inspections.
  • Monitor and manage rent and maintenance arrears, rent assessments, payment arrangements, refunds, and collections.
Requirements:
  • Proven customer service experience with strong empathy and communication skills.
  • Intermediate Microsoft Office skills and ability to quickly learn additional IT systems.
  • High attention to detail and ability to work independently.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • High confidentiality, empathy, and resilience to deal with people in distress.
  • Able to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • National Criminal History check required prior to placement.
  • Valid Driver's License.
