At our glass factory in Yatala, we are seeking a highly skilled Process Operator to oversee the operation of furnace systems.

This is an exciting opportunity to join our production team and contribute to the manufacture of high-quality glass products.

We are looking for someone with hands-on experience in a manufacturing environment and confidence working with automated machinery. Solid mechanical skills, attention to detail, and a focus on product quality and efficiency are essential.

  • The successful candidate will be responsible for monitoring and adjusting furnace conditions, troubleshooting equipment issues, and contributing to ongoing process improvements.
  • Rotating shifts will include 8-hour shifts with two consecutive weekends off every five weeks.
  • A competitive starting rate from $38 per hour (Plus OT and Shift Allowance) onwards will be offered.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Operate and monitor oxygen-fired furnaces and batch house equipment.
  • Use SCADA/PLC systems to monitor performance and adjust settings.
  • Troubleshoot equipment issues and work with maintenance to reduce downtime.
  • Support safety initiatives and participate in training and risk assessments.
  • Contribute to improvements to boost efficiency, reduce waste, and lower emissions.
  • Collaborate with production, quality, and maintenance teams.
Requirements:
  • Hands-on experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Confidence working with automated machinery.
  • Solid mechanical skills with the ability to troubleshoot and maintain equipment.
  • Familiarity with automated control systems like SCADA or PLC.
  • Strong attention to detail and a focus on product quality and efficiency.
  • Understanding of industrial safety standards, especially around hazardous materials and machinery.
  • Comfortable working in high-temperature, noisy environments while following safety protocols.
  • Great communication skills and a team-oriented attitude.
