About the Role

Our Galilee School is a registered, independent educational institution for disengaged young people in Years 7-12. As an educator, you will collaborate with our Teaching and Learning Team to design and implement lesson plans and programs aligned with the Australian Curriculum.

We are seeking a dedicated and innovative educator to join our team of passionate professionals. You will provide support to students in their academic pursuits and activities as they work towards achieving their personal goals and individualised objectives.

Our staff are committed to helping young people succeed in education where they may not have experienced it before. Educators appreciate working in smaller classes (1:5 staff-to-student ratio) and receiving significant support from our Student Support Team.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Develop, prepare and deliver high-quality teaching and learning programs consistent with the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers and relevant syllabi.
  • Maintain teaching competency and currency of knowledge required by relevant authorities.
  • Assist in creating Individual Learning Plans for students in collaboration with the Head of Teaching and Learning.
  • Provide social, cultural and emotional wellbeing support for students while ensuring their physical safety.
  • Keep accurate records of student progress and report on performance to parents/carers and stakeholders.
  • Participate in school decision-making processes and professional development opportunities.
  • Support student transportation in conjunction with their attendance and the school's academic and social program.
