Teaching Mathematics at St John the Evangelist Catholic High School

We are seeking a qualified and dedicated Mathematics teacher to join our team at St John the Evangelist Catholic High School in Nowra. The successful applicant will be responsible for teaching Mathematics to secondary students and contributing to the school's mission to provide a supportive and inclusive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Teach Mathematics to secondary students, developing and implementing engaging lesson plans that cater to diverse learning needs.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of the school's Mathematics curriculum, ensuring alignment with Catholic Education Diocese of Wollongong's standards.
  • Assess student progress, providing constructive feedback and guidance to support student growth and achievement.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement effective teaching strategies, promoting a culture of excellence and innovation in the classroom.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching skills and stay up-to-date with best practices in Mathematics education.

Essential Criteria:

  • Demonstrate a deep understanding of the Catholic Education Diocese of Wollongong's mission and values, and a commitment to upholding these principles in the classroom.
  • Hold a valid teaching accreditation and registration with the NSW Education Standards Authority (NESA).
  • Have a strong understanding of the Mathematics curriculum and a proven ability to teach Mathematics to secondary students.
  • Be able to work collaboratively with colleagues, parents, and the wider school community to support student learning and well-being.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Appropriate qualifications for teaching Mathematics, including a Bachelor of Education or equivalent.
  • Level B accreditation in accordance with the Catholic Education Diocese of Wollongong's To Work, Teach and Lead policy.
  • Registration with the NSW Education Standards Authority (NESA) as a qualified teacher.

Working with Children Clearance:

This role requires a Working With Children Check (WWCC) prior to employment with the Catholic Education Diocese of Wollongong.
