Empowering Lives as a Developmental Educator in Sutherland Shire

We're seeking a dedicated and compassionate individual to join our team as a Developmental Educator in the Sutherland Shire. As a member of our interdisciplinary team, you'll have the opportunity to make a real difference in people's lives by helping them overcome barriers and achieve their goals.
About the RoleThis full-time or part-time position (minimum 4 days per week) offers a competitive salary range of $83,582 - $100,342, inclusive of annual leave loading and superannuation. You'll be based in the vibrant Sutherland Shire, surrounded by like-minded professionals who share your passion for making a positive impact.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct initial assessments using our evidence-based LEAD assessment tool to understand participants' needs and develop personalized support plans.
- Liaise with our interdisciplinary team to ensure participants receive wraparound supports that cater to their unique requirements.
- Support participants in their everyday environments, whether that's at home, work, school, or in the community.
- Cultivate strong relationships with participants, their families, and support teams to help them envision a life filled with opportunities and experiences.
- Collaborate with colleagues to develop effective strategies and solutions that address the complex challenges faced by our participants.
- A Bachelor or Master's degree in Disability Studies (or equivalent) and eligibility to become a member of the DEAI.
- Experience working with individuals with disabilities, preferably in a social model therapy context.
- Strong advocacy skills, with a focus on removing barriers and promoting inclusion.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trust and rapport with diverse stakeholders.
- A valid driver's license and willingness to travel within the designated area.
