About the Role:

Aspect Personnel is seeking a skilled Structural Design Engineer to join our team in Melbourne's CBD. As a Structural Design Engineer, you will be responsible for performing engineering design and analysis calculations, providing drawings, and researching design options.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform engineering design and analysis calculations using governing codes and standards, engineering formulas, skills, and experience.
  • Provide drawing for own designs and produce sketches to incorporate in drawings.
  • Research design options and document findings.
  • Review shop drawings.
  • Coordinate work with other disciplines such as architectural, mechanical, electrical, etc.
  • Use computer-assisted engineering and design software and equipment to prepare engineering design documents.
  • Attend and participate in required external and internal meetings.
  • Perform field activities such as observe and record existing field conditions, take and verify measurements within project area.
  • Organize, draft, and coordinate technical documents.
  • Carry out all functions in accordance with the approved procedures of the Quality System.
  • Actively support, encourage and participate in continuous improvement of the Quality System.

Requirements:

  • A recognized bachelor's degree in engineering.
  • Experience working as a Structural Design Engineer on building projects, in a consulting environment.
  • Familiarity with the design and analysis of steel, concrete, timber and masonry structure.
  • Attention to detail and the capability to follow up targets and deadlines to achieve outcomes.
  • The ability to work independently and to communicate clearly with clients, management team, office team members, and consultants.
  • Strong time management skills, and able to achieve deadlines and commitments.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
