Job Summary
We are seeking a Casual Learning Adviser to provide personalized academic support to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students studying STEPS, undergraduate, and postgraduate courses. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures and societies, and the ability to communicate effectively with students from diverse backgrounds. In addition, the successful applicant will possess excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with students, staff, and community members.

Key Responsibilities
The Casual Learning Adviser will provide one-on-one tutorial assistance to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students, guiding them through their academic journey and helping them to achieve their goals. The successful candidate will also participate in professional development opportunities to enhance their knowledge and skills, and contribute to the development of resources and programs to support Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students.

Selection Criteria
Applicants must possess a completed qualification at the level at which they are tutoring, and demonstrate a strong commitment to promoting the interests and well-being of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students. A Blue Card or eligibility to obtain one is also required for this role. Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment. Knowledge of the Indigenous Tutorial Assistance Program (ITAP) and experience working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students are highly regarded.
