At yourtown, we are committed to providing services that protect and keep children, young people, and adults at risk free from harm.

This 12-month paid traineeship offers an exciting opportunity for two young people to start a career in Landscaping and/or Horticulture.

The program includes:

  • A paid industry experience of 12 months
  • A Certificate II in Horticulture upon completion
  • Assistance transitioning into full-time employment following the traineeship

During the traineeship, you will gain hands-on practical experience combined with wrap-around training provided by yourtown. You will be supported by a qualified Trainer and a Youth Worker to help you develop your skills and experience.

You will learn a variety of hard and soft landscaping and horticulture skills such as grounds maintenance and parks maintenance.

To be eligible for this traineeship, you must:

  • Be between 15 to 25 years old
  • Meet the eligibility requirements for a Working with Children Blue Card
  • Complete a National Police Check
  • Be fully vaccinated (Covid Vaccine)
  • Not have completed a Certificate II in Horticulture
  • Not be a full-time student at TAFE, University, or School
  • Be local to the Deception Bay area
  • Be a permanent resident of Australia, New Zealand citizen permanently residing in Qld, Refugee and Humanitarian Visa Holder living in Qld, or Temporary Visa Holder living in Qld with the necessary visa and work permits on the pathway to permanent residency
