Maintenance Crew Member

Shaping the community's green spaces is a vital role that requires motivation, safety awareness and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.


This permanent full-time position involves maintaining and presenting landscapes to the highest standards across our parks and gardens.


The successful candidate will have the opportunity to make a positive impact on our environment while working in a dynamic and supportive team environment.


Key responsibilities include operating Out Front Mowers and associated equipment on various tasks and projects, undertaking basic horticultural maintenance including cultivation, watering, pruning, weeding, mulching, fertilising, mowing, spraying, planting, chipper operation, chainsaw operation and hedge trimming.


Additionally, you will be required to report any unsafe or abnormal occurrences within council's streets, parks and reserves.


About the Role

This is a permanent full-time position with a fortnightly Rostered Day Off (RDO).

Required skills and qualifications include:

  • A demonstrated commitment to our values
  • Demonstrated high-level customer-focused approach
  • Safe and competent driving of vehicles up to 13.9 tonnes GCM with a current Medium Rigid driver's licence
  • Demonstrated experience in operating Out Front Mowers competently, and safe and competent operation of light mechanical plant including brush cutter, blower, edger, hand mower, additional experience with hedge trimmers, chain saw, post hole digger would be desirable
  • Previous experience working effectively in a team environment
