The role of the Automotive Service Technician is to provide exceptional service to customers by effectively diagnosing and repairing automotive systems. This involves staying up-to-date with the latest technologies and techniques, as well as maintaining a high level of productivity and efficiency in the workplace.
Key Responsibilities:
- Makes sure that workplace safety is Priority #1 by following all safety policies, completing all safety-related training, locking out any unsafe equipment, and reporting any unsafe conditions or actions to a member of Management.
- Provides automotive systems diagnosis, repair, and maintenance services for customers, including all systems covered by the ASE series of automotive certifications.
- Ensures a valid Service Work Order is initiated prior to initiating service on a vehicle and ensures it is visibly displayed with the vehicle while it is being serviced.
- Ensures an MPI is completed prior to initiating service on every vehicle and actively supports and participates in the 5-for-5 Customer Engagement Process.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Knowledge, skills, and abilities required for effective communication, teamwork, and operation in serving customers.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical instructions, journal and procedures, or governmental regulations.
- Diagnose and recommend solutions to basic automotive problems.
