About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Associate Nurse Unit Manager to join our team at Knox Private Hospital. As a key member of our nursing leadership team, you will be responsible for providing clinical operational direction for the Orthopaedic/Neurosurgery unit, ensuring efficient and effective management of nursing care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Facilitate a Learning Culture: Foster a culture of continuous improvement, ensuring that our nursing team is equipped with the skills and knowledge needed to deliver high-quality patient care.
  • Maintain Professional Relationships: Develop and maintain professional and constructive working relationships with our VMO partners, using a customer service mindset to ensure high-quality patient outcomes.
  • Provide Clinical Operational Direction: Coordinate the delivery of nursing care that is evidence-based, ensuring that our patients receive the best possible care.
  • Manage Resources: Be accountable and responsible for the effective daily management of human, financial, and material resources.
  • Coordinate Quality Improvement Initiatives: Drive clinical audits and quality improvement initiatives to ensure that our nursing practice is aligned with best practice.
  • Undertake Direct Patient Care: Provide direct patient care as required, ensuring that our patients receive the highest level of care.
Selection Criteria
  • Current Registration: Current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
  • Working with Children Check: A valid Working with Children check.
  • Experience: 3+ years of experience in orthopaedic, neurology, or surgical nursing.
  • Rotational Night Shifts: Ability to work rotational night shifts.
  • Leadership Experience: Current or previous experience as an Associate Nurse Unit Manager, Shift Manager, or Clinical Nurse Specialist.
  • Clinical Knowledge: Sound clinical knowledge and compliance with Australian Commission on Safety and Quality in Health Care (ACSQHC) National Safety and Quality Health Service (NSQHS) Standards.
  • Interpersonal and Communication Skills: Exemplary interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to positively influence and motivate others.
  • Customer Service Focus: Excellent customer service focus, with the ability to manage a dynamic and changing environment.
  • Computer Literacy: High degree of computer literacy, including Microsoft Office and various databases.
