Cloud Engineer - Design and Development

We are seeking a highly skilled Cloud Engineer to join our team. As a Cloud Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and deploying scalable cloud services using various technologies such as Kubernetes, AKS, GO, C#, Linux, and .NET.

Job Description

Azure Arc connects the world's computing power to Azure. As part of the Azure Arc team, we extend Azure's cloud capabilities to on-premises, multi-cloud, and edge environments, simplifying server and Kubernetes management.

As a Senior Software Engineer, you will work on designing, coding, validating, shipping, and running high-scale services. You will collaborate with a dynamic team and contribute to all aspects of the stack, from agents running on servers and Kubernetes clusters to high-scale, globally distributed cloud services.

You will have end-to-end ownership of your areas, including design, code, testing, and telemetry coverage. As a senior engineer on the team, you will mentor early-career engineers.

Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or related technical field AND 6+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including Go, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python.
  • Advanced technical proficiency in hands-on software design and programming experience in Go, Java, C++, C#, or object-oriented programming.
  • Strong experience in product development to meet customer requirements and designing/building license management software.
  • Minimum 3+ years of experience developing, deploying, monitoring, and shipping scalable cloud services.
  • Minimum 3+ years of experience with containers and Kubernetes.
  • Strong experience using tech stack - Kubernetes, AKS, GO, C#, Linux, and .NET.
  • Ability to mentor early-career engineers.
  • Advanced problem-solving and critical thinking.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Provides technical leadership and raises the technical bar.
  2. Collaborates with stakeholders to determine user requirements and develops design documents.
  3. Creates, implements, optimizes, debugs, refactors, and reuses code to establish performance, maintainability, and reliability.
  4. Participates in Livesite operations and builds automation to identify, prevent, and remediate service issues.
  5. Supports key projects, including designing and building license management software.
  6. Proactively seeks new knowledge and adapts to latest trends and technical solutions.
  7. Shares knowledge with colleagues via code reviews and provides mentoring.
