About the Role

As a Senior Mechanical Lead at KBR Inc., you will be responsible for providing leadership and technical expertise to deliver mechanical engineering solutions for projects across Australia.

Job Description

The successful candidate will have a strong background in mechanical engineering, with experience in leading multidisciplinary project teams and managing complex engineering tasks. You will be expected to work closely with clients, statutory authorities, and other consultants to deliver high-quality results.

Main Responsibilities
  • Lead the mechanical engineering design project team and assignments
  • Organise, execute, coordinate, mentor, and coach the team
  • Apply advanced theories, concepts, principles, and processes
  • Contribute to and perform designs, prepare specifications, and operate within KBR's quality management system
  • Discuss and negotiate critical issues within the discipline both internally and with external stakeholders
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering or equivalent recognised discipline
  • Significant practical design experience with knowledge of local industry standards and local codes
  • Solid experience of leading a multi-disciplinary project team and the ability to mentor and develop team members
  • Proven ability to work in engineering teams and manage projects to scope, budget, and program
  • Experience in preparing and reviewing reports and technical specifications
  • The ability to liaise with clients, statutory authorities, and other consultants
  • Chartered Engineer (CPEng) accreditation or eligibility to apply
  • Australian Citizenship preferred with the ability to obtain Defence clearance
