Job Title: Water Resource Team Lead

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Water Resource Team Lead to join our team in NSW. As a key member of our Water Resources team, you will be responsible for leading and growing a team of professionals, delivering a wide range of water resources projects, and contributing to the success of KBR's National Water Resources team.

About the Role

As a Water Resource Team Lead, you will have the opportunity to work on a variety of challenging projects, including hydrological and hydraulic investigation and design, flood studies, transport and mine infrastructure, floodplain management, water balance modeling, stormwater management, and mine water management. You will be responsible for leading a team of professionals, including junior staff and highly experienced professionals, and contributing to the development of technical models and reports to a high standard.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and grow a team of professionals, including junior staff and highly experienced professionals.
  • Deliver a wide range of water resources projects, including hydrological and hydraulic investigation and design, flood studies, transport and mine infrastructure, floodplain management, water balance modeling, stormwater management, and mine water management.
  • Contribute to the development of technical models and reports to a high standard.
  • Build strong relationships with team members, other disciplines, clients, and KBR's leadership team.
  • Contribute to budgets and plans, management of stakeholders, and interaction with regulatory authorities.
Requirements
  • Hold an accredited bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field.
  • 10-15 years' local experience on Water Resources projects.
  • Experience in numerical modeling (hydrology, hydraulics, and groundwater), including TUFLOW, RORB, XP-RAFTS, HEC-RAS, MUSIC, GOLDSIM, and solid experience with GIS applications (QGIS, ArcGIS, MapInfo).
  • Experience in preparation of bid budgets, writing proposals, and business development activities would be highly regarded.
  • Knowledge and understanding of federal, state, and local legislation, regulatory frameworks, guidelines, and policies, and experience applying it to achieve practical outcomes in the field of water resources in Australia.
  • Chartered professional engineer (CPEng) or ability to achieve this status in 6 months of starting.
