AusNet Services Ltd is seeking a skilled Statutory and Environmental Planning Officer to join our Community Engagement and Land Planning Team. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in shaping our customers' energy future and contributing to Australia's cleaner energy transition.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to work on high-profile projects, including renewable energy developments and infrastructure projects. You will provide expert guidance on statutory planning, environmental approvals, cultural heritage, and regulatory compliance. Your expertise will support AusNet's transmission connection projects and Mondo's small-scale renewable energy projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide analysis of project brief documents and identify requirements connected to land and easement acquisition, planning, and environment approvals.
  • Conduct thorough reviews of statutory planning documentation to identify relevant terms and conditions.
  • Develop detailed reports to effectively communicate findings to project teams.
  • Contribute to the end-to-end statutory planning process to secure complex planning and environment approvals in Victoria and other states.
  • Provide planning support to projects during their delivery phase to ensure compliance with approved development and management plans.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Tertiary qualification in Town Planning, Statutory and/or Environmental Planning, or a closely related discipline.
  • Planning Institute of Australia (PIA) accreditation or Victorian Planning and Environmental Law (VEPLA) Membership.
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience in Statutory and/or Environmental Planning in Victoria, with at least 5 years in a senior role.
  • Detailed knowledge and experience with the Victorian Planning Scheme and related schedules.
