**About the Role**

The Software Engineer is a key member of our cross-functional squad, responsible for designing, building, testing, and supporting applications. As part of this role, you will be responsible for designing and developing high-quality, fit-for-purpose software, consistent with Equifax's global engineering standards.

This is a highly technical role that requires the ability to work in and leverage an agile delivery environment to continuously deliver business value.

**Key Responsibilities**

  • Design and develop high-quality software applications using Java and Spring Boot.
  • Work in an agile delivery environment to continuously deliver business value.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and develop software applications.
  • Develop and maintain software applications using cloud-native technologies.
  • Ensure software applications meet Equifax's global engineering standards.

**Requirements**

  • 5+ years of experience as a Full Stack Engineer with Java skills.
  • Experience in Angular JS (Frontend UI) is preferred.
  • Cloud-native software development skills in Java strongly preferred.
  • Experience in overall system architecture, scalability, reliability, and performance.
  • Established knowledge and understanding of key software engineering principles like OOP, Design Patterns, and Microservices architectures.
  • Detailed knowledge of modern software development tools, techniques, and frameworks.
  • Familiarity with various database technologies like SQL or NoSQL databases.
  • Strong experience with DevOps and CI/CD practices and tools like Jenkins, Docker, and Kubernetes.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proactive, self-starter, highly motivated, with a real passion for staying up to date and researching new methods of work and new technology.
  • Must have valid and unrestricted working rights in Australia.

**Nice to Have**

  • Commercial software engineering experience, preferably in a financial services enterprise or technology product company.
  • Experience in Angular JS (Frontend UI).
  • Cloud Certification (GCP/AWS/Azure).
  • Open-source or community project committer would be highly desirable.
  • Commercial experience with well-known Java libraries, Linux, and JVM tuning.
