Job Summary:

  • Maintain vibrant gardens, lush lawns, and top-quality sports facilities to create a welcoming environment.
About the Role
  • Support in maintaining playing surfaces, including setting up greens, top dressing, fertilizing under supervision, seeding, turfing, coring, and sprigging.
  • Prepare sports facilities for events and carnivals safely and efficiently.
  • Operate and maintain small machinery and equipment, considering risk to self and others.
  • Assist with maintenance repairs of equipment and grounds, following the grounds maintenance plan.
  • Source and purchase materials as required.
About You
  • Relevant contemporary skills and experience in grounds maintenance, including knowledge of playing surfaces, operating machinery, and equipment maintenance.
  • Tertiary qualifications at Certificate III level or completion of an apprenticeship preferred.
Key Responsibilities
  • Safety and Risk Management: Operate equipment and machinery while prioritizing personal safety and minimizing risk to others.
  • Maintenance and Repair: Assist in regular maintenance tasks, including checking and repairing equipment, mowers, and other machinery.
  • Gardening and Grounds Maintenance: Maintain gardens, lawns, and sports facilities to high standards, ensuring they are safe and enjoyable for users.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Contemporary knowledge of grounds maintenance practices and techniques.
  • Ability to operate various types of machinery and equipment.
  • Basic understanding of horticulture principles.
  • Physical fitness and ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
  • Tertiary qualifications in a relevant field or completion of an apprenticeship preferred.
