About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Offsite Repair Advisor to join our Fabrication team at Newmont. As an integral part of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring quality management of all offsite fabrication and welding activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Liaise with site teams to understand repair needs and strategically prioritize offsite overhaul projects.
- Evaluate overhaul bids and component purchases against SOW.
- Provide technical feedback and recommendations for vendor selection.
- Manage compliance with safety regulations and industry standards during repair work.
- Prepare vendor job packs to include OEM repair procedures and special instructions.
- Work closely with the QA/QC team and other Newmont personnel to finalize SOW.
- Assist in managing compliance to delivery schedule.
- Procurement and distribution of inventory parts and materials essential for off-site repairs.
- Monitor the lifecycle of critical parts attached to components to guarantee reliability through their service life.
- Stay updated with equipment repair best practice to identify improvement opportunities.
- Coordinate vendors to site in conjunction with QA/QC team for offsite component overhauls inspections.
- Manage Disposal of assets upon completion of their working life.
- Advise on rebuild scopes, costs, and turnaround times.
- Document repair work, maintain service records, and provide reports to management.
- Conduct facility inspections audits to define capability and technical compliance to undertake offsite repairs.
- Manage compliance to QA/QC requirements in conjunction with Newmont QA/QC team and Business Partners to meet Australian Standards on works performed during offsite overhauls.
- Structural Steel Welding and NDT testing and inspection.
- Prepare budgets and cost-saving initiatives related to offsite overhauls.
- Maintain a high-level working knowledge and commitment of safety processes.
About You
You will be a motivated individual capable of working within a large team, prioritizing and managing multiple onsite and off-site repair projects. Your ability to effectively engage with personnel and build rapport with vendors and high-level problem-solving abilities and sound attention to detail will be required for your success in this position.
Your practical skills will include extensive industry experience with Boom, Stick, Tray, Bucket, Clam & Backboard Overhaul and Fabrication and broad OEM knowledge in relation to repair procedures and guidelines. You will hold a Trade or Engineering qualifications with a focus on Australian Standards and NDT inspections, with the additional of AS1796 Welding Supervisor Certificate 10, with Welding Inspector – AS1796 Certificate 11 highly desirable.
