Role Overview:
This Senior Disability Therapist position is a critical part of the SA Health team, focused on delivering exceptional care to individuals with complex disabilities. The role involves providing specialist occupational therapy assessment and intervention, assistive technology prescription, NDIS recommendations, and time-limited case management.
About the Position:
This position reports to the Occupational Therapy Manager and is responsible for leading effective discharge planning for patients with disability, providing clinical consultancy services across the Southern Adelaide Local Health Network (SALHN), and contributing to the development of an integrated multidisciplinary team approach.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide and promote occupational therapy assessments, interventions, prescriptions, and provision of specialized assistive technology.
- Lead complex discharge planning for patients with disability.
- Accept professional responsibility for high-quality work, including advising management on service development and practice redesign in response to patient needs.
- Apply professional expertise in the provision of complex clinical consultancy services across SALHN.
- Contribute to the development of an integrated multidisciplinary team approach for patients with disability.
About You:
We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Occupational Therapist who has demonstrated clinical leadership skills, including the ability to initiate and lead change that results in improved outcomes and facilitates continuous quality improvement.
The ideal candidate will have extensive post-graduate clinical experience at a senior level, along with extensive experience working with adults with physical, intellectual, and/or psychosocial disabilities requiring NDIS assessment, intervention, and coordination.
