AOD Counsellor

We are seeking a highly skilled AOD Counsellor to join our Substance Use Recovery team in Ringwood.

Job Description:

• This full-time position involves working with individuals, families, and groups to provide accessible and high-quality therapeutic AOD counselling services.
• You will work collaboratively with a dedicated team of professionals to reduce AOD-related harm and promote recovery.
• The role requires identifying co-occurring mental health, social, and primary health issues associated with substance use and providing integrated and collaborative support to address these.
• You will deliver a welcoming, hopeful, strength-based, family-inclusive, trauma-informed, recovery-oriented, culturally appropriate, dual diagnosis capable service.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide accessible, high-quality therapeutic AOD counselling services.
• Work collaboratively with the team to reduce AOD-related harm and promote recovery.
• Identify co-occurring mental health, social, and primary health issues associated with substance use.
• Deliver a welcoming, hopeful, strength-based, family-inclusive, trauma-informed, recovery-oriented, culturally appropriate, dual diagnosis capable service.

To be successful in this role, you will need:

• A completed tertiary qualification in Mental Health, Social Work, Psychology, or an AOD related field (degree or higher).
• Experience in providing counselling services to individuals, families, and groups for both voluntary and mandated clients experiencing co-occurring mental health and substance-use related disorders.
• A Diploma in AOD, as well as completed or competencies in AOD, will make you a strong candidate.

Estimated Salary: $70,000 - $90,000 per annum, depending on experience.
