Job Title: Meteorology Reporter

Overview:

This is a challenging role that requires the ability to effectively communicate complex weather information to a broad audience. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of meteorological principles and be able to convey this information in an engaging and accurate manner.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Present live and recorded weather content on television news channels.
  • Develop and present weather segments that are informative, relevant, and engaging.
  • Collaborate with meteorologists to ensure accuracy and effectiveness of weather forecasts.
  • Respond to breaking and severe weather events as required.
  • Report from the field during major weather events.
  • Pitch coverage of weather events and stories.
  • Work collaboratively to produce and present content.
  • Write and edit copy for digital platforms.

Requirements:

  • A minimum of two years experience as a television presenter.
  • The ability to assess and communicate weather information accurately.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • The ability to write and produce content for on-air use.
  • Ability to report in the field in both live and non-live situations.
  • Strong time management skills and the ability to work to tight deadlines.
  • A willingness to learn complex scientific processes quickly.
  • The ability to work independently within a team environment.
