At Queensland Fire and Emergency Services, we're seeking a skilled Auxiliary Firefighter to join our team in Roma.
We offer an estimated salary of AU$ 65,000 - $85,000 per year, depending on qualifications and experience.
Company OverviewWe are a unique emergency service agency responsible for ensuring the safety of people and property across Queensland through prevention, preparation, response, and recovery activities. Our team comprises the Fire and Rescue Service, the Rural Fire Service, and the State Emergency Service.
We support other volunteer groups providing emergency response to Queenslanders, making us one department with many services, capabilities, and partners.
About the RoleThe functions of the Queensland Fire and Emergency Services are distinctive, as we deliver high-quality fire, rescue, emergency, and disaster management services through a single agency. This collaborative approach enhances safety outcomes for the community.
Key Responsibilities- Respond to fire and other emergency incidents as a member of a team.
- Promote community safety and emergency preparedness by contributing to community education activities.
- Develop and maintain competencies through regular drills and training courses provided by QFES to ensure safety and effectiveness on the fire ground.
- Maintain required attendance standards for emergency incidents and training.
- Operate specialist firefighting and rescue equipment safely and effectively.
- Contribute to upkeep and hygiene of station facilities.
- Australian Permanent Resident Status.
- Manual C Class driver's licence.
- Employer's written consent to attend incidents and emergencies (where applicable).
- Live or work within a reasonable distance of auxiliary fire stations.
