City Cleanser

The City of Parramatta is undergoing a period of unprecedented transformation as it evolves into Sydney's Central City. The growth and investment in the area present a once-in-a-generation opportunity for stakeholders to shape the city's future and ensure it remains culturally, socially, environmentally, and economically sustainable.

This position is responsible for providing self-managed cleansing services that maintain and improve the public domain in Parramatta. You will undertake inspections of the public domain, make decisions, and implement work practices in line with industry standards.

Daily duties include but are not limited to:

• Public domain cleaning
• Amenities and BBQ cleaning
• Street sweep machine operation
• Garbage compactor operation
• Emergency works response

This is a 38-hour week shift working between 11:30 AM and 8:00 PM on Monday to Friday. You will start and finish at either Council's Rydalmere Operations Depot or Wentworth Street Compound in Parramatta, depending on the requirement.

Required Skills and Qualifications

You will bring previous experience operating heavy vehicles. Previous experience operating mechanical street sweepers and/or rear-loading garbage compactors is desirable.

• Relevant experience in a similar role
• Demonstrated ability to work in a flexible team comprising staff of diverse backgrounds and varying skill levels
• Demonstrated commitment to continuous improvement and the provision of high-quality and cost-effective cleansing services
• Experience maintaining safe practices including premises and personnel through identifying, managing risks, and hazards promptly

The following qualifications are required:

• Current NSW Drivers Licence (minimum MR level)
• Current traffic controller (Blue, Yellow)
• Construction Industry Certificate
