Senior Radiologist Opportunity

This is a 12-month trial position for an experienced radiologist to join the team at St George Hospital. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in diagnostic radiology reporting and participate in various tasks including training, supervision of registrars, multidisciplinary team attendance, consultation with clinical teams, quality improvement, research, etc.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Reporting on ED and other examinations from 0800 to 2400 hours each day in the 'reporting engine'
  • Participating in TEG functions, including training and supervision of registrars, MDT attendance, consultation with clinical teams, quality improvement, research, etc.
  • Working effectively and harmoniously with medical and other health services colleagues as part of a multi-disciplinary healthcare team
  • Communicating effectively with patients, colleagues, and staff and working as an effective member of the clinical team across multiple sites
Requirements:
  • Registration or eligible for registration with Medical Board of Australia (AHPRA)
  • Fellowship of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Radiologists and/or equivalent specialist recognition as provided for by the Health Insurance Act 1973 and the relevant Award/Determination
  • Evidence of continuing medical education and self-monitoring/audit practices consistent with the scope of practice requirements of the position
  • Proven capacity and/or experience in the provision of effective high-quality service in the specialty, demonstrated through successful clinical practice in an environment appropriate to the requirements of the position
  • Demonstrated commitment to teaching with experience in teaching both undergraduate and postgraduate students and other staff of the hospital
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively and harmoniously with medical and other health services colleagues as part of a multi-disciplinary healthcare team and demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with patients, colleagues, and staff and to work as an effective member of the clinical team across multiple sites
