About the Role

We are seeking an experienced community development specialist to join our team and contribute to our efforts to prevent and respond to family violence. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in engaging with Horn of Africa communities in Melbourne's West and building their capacity to recognize and respond to family violence.

The primary focus of this role is to work closely with community leaders and organizations to develop and implement strategies that address the root causes of family violence. This includes developing culturally safe and responsive services that meet the unique needs of these communities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement strategies to prevent and respond to family violence
  • Work closely with community leaders and organizations to develop culturally safe and responsive services
  • Engage with Horn of Africa communities in Melbourne's West and build their capacity to recognize and respond to family violence

Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Extensive experience working in a community development or social services context
  • Proven track record of developing and implementing successful community-based programs
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively with community leaders and organizations
