Job Description

As a Purchase to Pay Coordinator with the Department of Education, Western Australia, you will play a vital role in ensuring compliance with Government policies, procedures, guidelines, and legislation. You will be responsible for monitoring purchase-to-pay activities, overseeing provision of purchase card administration, and supporting schools and central services.

You will analyze data using a Department-defined methodology to ensure compliance with government legislation and accounting policies and procedures for central services. You will maintain current knowledge of applicable legislation, including Goods and Services Tax, Fringe Benefits Tax, and Financial Management Act 2006, government accounting policies and procedures, and the Australian Accounting Standards.

Required Skills and Qualifications

To succeed in this role, you will require:

  • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of purchase to pay functions within a computerized financial accounting system and proficiency in the use of spreadsheets and databases.
  • Able to achieve results by successfully planning and coordinating work activities, contributing to the allocation of responsibilities and resources, and developing team workplans and goals.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate and influence by clearly communicating instructions and technical information, seeking input from others, and resolving issues in discussion with other staff and stakeholders.
