Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee and manage grouting, backfilling, and steel lining operations, ensuring adherence to project specifications, safety protocols, and industry best practices.
  • Coordinate with engineering and project teams to align activities with project timelines and objectives.
  • Monitor progress, assess equipment performance, and make adjustments to optimize efficiency and quality of grouting, backfilling, and steel lining.
Team Leadership and Training
  • Lead and manage the grouting, backfilling, and steel lining teams, providing guidance, training, and support to ensure their competency and compliance with safety standards.
  • Conduct regular safety meetings and training sessions, promoting a strong safety culture and minimizing accidents or incidents.
  • Foster a positive work environment, encourage teamwork, and promote professional development within the teams.
Reporting and Documentation
  • Prepare accurate and timely reports on grouting, backfilling, steel lining operations, spoil management activities, and compliance with regulations.
  • Maintain records of plans, spoil transportation permits, disposal receipts, and other relevant documentation.
  • Communicate effectively with project stakeholders, providing updates on progress, spoil management challenges, and recommendations.

The project is a large-scale construction project based in a National Park around Cooma, Australia, and consists of linking two existing dams through 27km of tunnels and building a new underground power station. The successful candidate will have a minimum of 10 years' experience working in the Construction Industry in a similar role and relevant certifications in tunnelling, grouting, backfilling, steel lining, and spoil management.
