About the Opportunity:
- We are seeking a skilled and motivated Heavy Diesel Mechanic Trainee to join our team at BHP.
Job Description:
- The successful candidate will undergo a 12-month training program based at the FutureFit Academy in Mackay, where they will learn to maintain and service major components on heavy diesel mobile mining machinery.
- During this time, they will work on industry-leading equipment and gain hands-on experience in maintenance and repair.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- A genuine interest in fixing and repairing machinery
- Ability to work in a physically demanding environment with exposure to grease and dirt
- Proven ability to commit to attendance and adapt to a rotating roster including early mornings, evenings, and weekends

As a permanent employee with BHP, you will receive a competitive salary and a range of benefits. Our salary package is estimated to be around $90,000 per annum, taking into account the cost of living in the Mackay area and the level of responsibility associated with this role.
