About the Role

As a visionary leader, you will spearhead our educational institution in Byron Bay, embodying the spirit of service and collaboration. With a deep understanding of Steiner/Waldorf principles, you will foster a culture of innovation and excellence, nurturing the spiritual and human development of students, staff, and families.

You will inspire a rich, developmentally appropriate K–12 Steiner curriculum, driving pedagogical leadership that is forward-thinking and student-centric. Your collaborative approach will foster a culture of shared governance, ensuring all stakeholders are empowered to contribute to our community's growth.

Main Responsibilities
  • Pedagogical Leadership: Design and implement a comprehensive Steiner curriculum that addresses the intellectual, emotional, physical, and spiritual needs of our students.
  • Collaborative Leadership: Foster a culture of open communication and mutual respect among staff, board members, and parents, ensuring everyone is aligned with our vision and values.
  • Staff Wellbeing & Development: Provide support and mentorship to staff, promoting professional and personal growth, and recognizing individual contributions to our community.
  • Community Engagement: Build strong relationships with parents, caregivers, and the broader community, ensuring our institution remains a trusted and integral part of the Byron Shire/Northern Rivers community.
  • Operational & Strategic Management: Oversee daily operations, making strategic decisions that align with our vision, values, and goals.
Key Qualifications
  • Deep commitment to Steiner/Waldorf education and Anthroposophy.
  • Proven leadership experience in a Steiner/Waldorf context.
  • Service-oriented philosophy of leadership.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Knowledge of child development through an Anthroposophical lens.
  • Strong organisational and strategic capacity.
  • Connection to the Byron Shire/Northern Rivers community.
