About the Role

This esteemed company, operating in the civil sector as a seasoned subcontractor with over 100 years of experience in construction, is seeking an exceptional Contract Administrator to join their team.

Responsibilities
  • Effective contract administration, ensuring timely and efficient management of multiple contracts to meet client expectations.
  • Closely collaborate with the project delivery team to guarantee project outcomes are achieved.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Drafting and negotiating subcontracts and head contracts.
  • Preparing and requesting quotations from suppliers and subcontractors in accordance with project requirements.
  • Assessing supplier and subcontractor quotations against desired outcomes.
  • Taking material requirements for projects and drafting purchase orders for materials and services.
  • Administering both subcontracts and head contracts, ensuring notices, claims, and submissions are made in accordance with contract terms.
  • Preparation and submission of head contract progress claims.
  • Issuing payment schedules for subcontractor payment claims.
  • Calculating the price of variations in consultation with estimators.
  • Accurately controlling project documentation received from clients and subcontractors.
  • Providing support on operational delivery of projects.
  • Managing administrative functions of assigned projects with a focus on achieving safety, quality, time, scope, and cost outcomes.
Requirements
  • Relevant bachelor's degree or higher with at least 3 years of post-graduation experience in a similar role.
  • Diploma or certificate qualification with at least 4 years of post-qualification experience in a similar role.
  • Trade qualification with at least 5 years of post-trade qualification experience in a similar role.
Desirable Qualifications and Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in construction management, civil engineering, or quantity surveying.
  • Diploma or certificate IV in project management, contract management, or building and construction (contract administration).
  • Trade qualification in carpentry.
  • Strong understanding of the construction industry and process of building.
  • Knowledge and ability to scope, draft, and review contracts.
  • Ability to draft and respond to contractual correspondence.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, and Outlook) and Microsoft Project.
  • Familiarity with Timberline Sage project management software or similar packages.
