Job Opportunity: Safety and Quality Champion
The role of the Patient Safety Coordinator plays a critical part in ensuring safe care for patients, clients, and residents accessing our services.
Monitoring Serious Adverse Patient Safety Events (SAPSE) within incident management systems is an essential aspect of this role.
Reporting, leading, and facilitating Sentinel Event reviews in collaboration with Divisions and Site Leadership is another key responsibility.
Facilitating SMART recommendations to support robust risk mitigation and system improvement in accordance with best practice is crucial in this position.
Collaborating with the Statutory Duty of Candour unit to ensure compliance with legislative instruments is also a significant duty.
Engaging with impacted patients, clients, residents, and/or their carers to ensure complete understanding and representation throughout the review process is vital.
Requirements
A current registration as a Health Practitioner with AHPRA is mandatory.
Leadership experience in a dynamic healthcare setting is required.
Developed written and verbal communication skills with significant report writing experience are necessary.
Demonstrated knowledge and practice in incident review methodology are expected.
Understanding of Safer Care Victoria's APSE Policy and Sentinel Event Program is crucial.
Ability to communicate and engage with senior leadership and executive level stakeholders is necessary.
A well-developed understanding of health literacy and medical/health terminology is required.
Additional Requirements
Evidence of or being in the process of obtaining a current Police Record Check and Working with Children Check is required.
Evidence of or being in the process of obtaining a current COVID-19 certificate, proof of current influenza vaccination, and other vaccination status consistent with public health orders is required.
Work Arrangements
This role requires flexibility and availability to work on site a minimum of three days a week, including travel to other sites possibly interstate.
