Lead Vessel Master

As a Lead Vessel Master, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe operation of vessels while delivering exceptional service to our guests.

This role involves overseeing daily vessel operations, conducting safety drills, and facilitating prestart/toolbox talks. You will also be responsible for maintaining daily vessel log entries, assisting in crew training, and providing leadership and guidance to crew members.

The ideal candidate will possess strong customer service skills, be tech-savvy, and be able to multitask and prioritize effectively. They will also have experience within the marine tourism industry, preferably as a Vessel Master operating in Perth coastal waters.

We are seeking an individual with strong people leadership capabilities who can positively influence a team to deliver exceptional guest experience.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Ensure compliance with all marine standards and operate vessels in a safe manner
  • Conduct safety drills in line with SMS requirements and facilitate prestart/toolbox talks
  • Maintain daily vessel log entries to the required standard
  • Assist in the ongoing training and development of crew members
  • Provide leadership and guidance to crew members
Requirements:
  • Relevant experience within the marine tourism industry (essential)
  • Experience as a Vessel Master operating in Perth coastal waters (highly desirable)
  • Current AMSA issued Certificate IV in Maritime Operations (Master up to 45m Near Coastal)
  • Certificate of Local Knowledge (CoLK)
  • Provide First Aid and CPR certificate
