Specialty Gas Chemist Role

We are seeking an experienced and motivated specialty gas chemist to join our production team. As a specialist in the field, you will be responsible for preparing and analysing high-precision analytical instruments.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong analytical chemistry knowledge and attention to detail to develop their skills in the specialty gas sector.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare specialty gas mixtures using gravimetric methods in accordance with ISO 17034 standards.
  • Analyse and certify specialty gas mixtures to meet ISO 17025 and ISO 17034 requirements.
  • Operate and maintain FTIR and GC instruments to ensure accurate results.
  • Conduct stability studies, validation, and quality control testing of gas mixtures.
  • Optimise production processes for accuracy and efficiency.
  • Maintain detailed records, reports, and traceability for all analytical work.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience in gravimetric preparation of gas mixtures, although full training will be provided for the right candidate.
  • Strong knowledge of analytical techniques and metrological traceability.
  • Familiarity with ISO 17025, ISO 17034, and/or ISO 9001 standards.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
  • Commitment to laboratory safety and continuous improvement.
