Visionary Engineering Leader for Luxury Hospitality

Sofitel Sydney Wentworth is undergoing a transformative journey, elevating its luxury service to new heights. As our Director of Engineering, you will play a pivotal role in this evolution.

Reporting directly to the General Manager, you will be an integral part of our leadership team, leading the Engineering department and collaborating with our Assistant Chief. Your responsibilities will include:

Maintaining Property Excellence

  • Providing expert property maintenance knowledge to ensure a high level of quality and safety standards.
  • Overseeing the upkeep of the building, grounds, and physical plant, with a focus on safety, security, and asset protection.

Team Leadership and Management

  • Leading a team of skilled Engineering professionals, working closely with our Assistant Chief.
  • Accountable for managing the budget, capital expenditure projects, preventive maintenance, energy conservation, and sustainability initiatives.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Experience in managing maintenance functions within large multi-story complexes.
  • Exceptional communication and organizational skills, with the ability to multitask effectively.
  • Demonstrated success in leading and developing teams.
  • Thinking outside the box and proven problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to perform emergency maintenance work, such as power failures, evacuation system resets, and mechanical system failures.

We offer a competitive salary range of $120,000 - $180,000 per annum, commensurate with experience. This figure is based on industry standards and takes into account the location and requirements of the role.
