Council is offering a unique chance for a dedicated professional to join our Development Services team on a part-time contract (14 hours per week). This position will provide you with hands-on experience, opportunities to apply your learning in real-world projects, and support towards your tuition fees.

As part of our team, you will be involved in real development and subdivision projects, contributing meaningful engineering input from day one. You will collaborate with experienced professionals, develop technical skills, and gain valuable exposure to the workings of local government.

To be successful in this position, you must:

  • Be enrolled in and currently studying a Bachelor degree qualification in Civil Engineering or other relevant equivalent tertiary qualification, with eligibility for acceptance to Engineers Australia upon completion;
  • Have successful completion of a minimum of two (2) years full-time study, or equivalent, in the above mentioned degree and satisfactory academic achievement in current undergraduate studies;
  • Be able to demonstrate well-developed interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills;
  • Be able to demonstrate the ability to multi-task and prioritise work within an environment of competing demands;
  • Have strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office (Word and Excel);
  • And hold a current Class C unrestricted drivers licence.
