About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Registered Nurse to join our team at the Launceston General Hospital. As a Registered Nurse in our Surgical Ward, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the delivery of safe and effective healthcare services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide safe and effective nursing care to patients undergoing surgical procedures, including orthopaedic, plastic and reconstructive, gynaecological, general, breast, and ear, nose and throat surgery.
  • Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to ensure seamless care transitions and effective communication with patients, families and other healthcare professionals.
  • Participate in the development and implementation of individualized care plans, taking into account the unique needs and preferences of each patient.
  • Contribute to the maintenance of a safe and supportive environment, promoting a culture of respect, empathy and compassion.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to identify and address any issues or concerns that may impact patient care or safety.
Requirements
  • Current registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia as a Registered Nurse.
  • Proven experience in a surgical ward or similar setting, with a strong understanding of surgical procedures and patient care.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with patients, families and other healthcare professionals.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong commitment to delivering high-quality patient care.
  • Flexibility and adaptability, with a willingness to work a variety of shifts and respond to changing patient needs.
