About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled High Voltage Field Test Technician to join our team at Energy Queensland. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for performing technical work under limited supervision, utilizing technical principles and practices to diagnose and coordinate activities in the Secondary Systems protection and HV apparatus work area.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Carry out high and low voltage testing, commissioning, corrective and preventative maintenance on network protection, control, communications, and metering equipment associated with transmission and distribution related assets.
  • Undertake installation, testing, repair, and commissioning tasks on complex electrical system components in a transmission and distribution substation environment.
  • Responsible for providing a safe work environment through the identification, development, and implementation of risk control measures.

About You:

  • Possess an Electrical trade qualification with completion of relevant training and recognised Transmission related experience.
  • Well-developed interpersonal communication skills to develop good working relationships with team members and external customers.
  • Prepared to travel in and around the North Queensland region to undertake work.
  • Required to participate in an on-call roster and available for call out emergencies.
  • You will be required to complete a pre-employment medical.
