Project Manager for Road Construction

This is a great opportunity to work on a high-profile road construction project in Melbourne. As a Project Engineer, you will be responsible for managing the day-to-day activities of the project team, ensuring that the project is delivered on time and within budget.

The Central Package of the North East Link project involves delivering twin three-lane tunnels and key interchanges. You will work closely with the design and construction contractor to ensure that the project is delivered safely and efficiently.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Ensuring quality and quantities of incoming equipment and material meet site plans and conditions
  • Developing and implementing procedures to achieve quality, safety, timely production, and compliance with standards
  • Undertaking quantitative and qualitative risk assessments to ensure acceptable quality of structures and finishes
  • Assigning work and reviewing supplier, subcontractor quotations/purchase orders for accuracy and adherence to required standards
  • Preparing and presenting construction methods to stakeholders

Requirements for this role include:

  • Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or similar field
  • Diploma of Project Management in Engineering Science, Building, Construction, or equivalent
  • Master's Degree in Engineering is preferred but not a requirement
  • At least 7 years of experience in construction, preferably as a Project Engineer
  • Understanding of Quality Management Plan, Safety Management Plan, Environmental Management Plan, and Projects Design Management Plan
  • Ability to manage and mentor a team of engineers
  • Excellent project management skills
