Our hospital, a premier healthcare institution located in Canberra's heart, is seeking an Emergency Medicine Registrar to join its dynamic team.
The department receives over 90,000 patients annually, presenting a diverse and complex case mix. The high trauma load stems from its status as the primary trauma centre within the catchment area.
A comprehensive training program covers both core and specialist curricula, with rotations available in anaesthetics, intensive care, medicine, neonatal intensive care, paediatrics, and emergency medicine. Specific support for exam preparation is provided, alongside opportunities to engage in research activities.
Key responsibilities include providing direct patient care, supervising junior medical staff, and working under consultant supervision. Registrars will participate in a 24-hour roster, covering seven days a week. Key tasks include immediate patient care, performing specialised procedures, preparing materials for clinical presentations, teaching sessions, and mortality/morbidity reviews.
