Airport Security Specialist

Job Opportunity:
The role of Aviation Protection Officer (APO) is crucial in ensuring security operations run smoothly at Melbourne Airport. We are seeking driven and passionate individuals to join our team in the Terminals or Airside.
This position involves casual work, focusing on high-quality security functions across Melbourne Airport, under the supervision of the Management Team and collaboration with the entire operations workforce.
Airport Security Operations
- Responsible for maintaining consistent and standard security practices, ensuring stakeholders and their possessions are checked and cleared prior to entering the security-restricted area
- Control vehicle access to airside, undertaking vehicle searches, and regulating entry according to required regulations
Terminal Security Measures
- Responsible for maintaining consistent and standard security practices, ensuring passengers and their possessions are checked and cleared prior to departure
- Control access to security-sensitive areas, undertaking physical searches, and identifying weapons, explosives, and prohibited items
The successful candidate will hold a valid and current security license with Certificate II in security operations and be willing to obtain a Certificate II in Transport Security Protection (TSP). They will also need to pass drug & alcohol screening, medical assessments, and obtain an ASIC security clearance (Criminal history clearance for the past 10 years).
