About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Finance Business Partner to join our dynamic and supportive finance team at AGL Macquarie in Hunter Valley NSW. As a key member of our team, you will play a pivotal part in providing management accounting, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting functions for the operation of the power station.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain labour reporting, including month-end journals and balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Lead month-end accounting and reporting processes ensuring accuracy and completeness.
  • Assist in fulfilling half-yearly statutory reporting requirements.
  • Monitor key operational drivers and report on performance metrics.
  • Prepare annual budgets, five-year plans, and monthly forecasts.
  • Monitor actual expenditure, analyse, investigate, and report on variances.
  • Provide advice on the correct accounting treatment for expenses, capital expenditure, and revenue.
  • Prepare operational reports/dashboards for senior management and team leaders.
  • Assist in the preparation of balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Prepare capitalisation of capital projects.
Requirements
  • Tertiary qualification in Accounting, Finance, or related business discipline.
  • CA/CPA qualifications (or getting them)
  • Practical experience in an accounting role in similar or related businesses.
  • Advanced skills in MS Office, particularly Excel.
  • Proficient in an integrated IT financial system, such as SAP.
  • Superior analytical and conceptual skills.
