About the Role

Thiess is seeking an experienced Excavator Operator to join our Production Mining Team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for operating machinery efficiently, safely, and competently to ensure maximum output.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operating excavators, dozers, graders, and loaders in a production mining environment
  • Complying with Thiess' policies and procedures
  • Responding to instructions from the Mining Supervisor
  • Maintaining pit floors and bunds
  • Minimizing dilution and achieving design parameters within acceptable tolerances
  • Maintaining high housekeeping standards
  • Carrying out pre-start checks

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have at least 3 years of experience operating heavy machinery in a production mining environment. You will also possess strong mining operational skills and be able to demonstrate your ability in maintaining pit floors and bunds. Additionally, you will have a sound knowledge and understanding of ore mark ups and pit configuration.
